CHILI COOK-OFF!!! November 11. The cook-off we wait all year for, and probably the most competitive meeting of all! There are several celebrity judges lined up including local restaurant owners, and food critics. Once again, we will have 3 categories for members to compete in: Traditional Chili with Beans, Traditional Chili with no Beans and Non-Traditional Chili (anything goes!) Members can enter one Chili in each category for a total of 3 chances to compete.

Our guest rescue for October is "Web of Life." This group runs a 7-acre no kill shelter in Chesapeake. They do not limit their rescue efforts to the usual dogs, cats and bunnies we are used to seeing at other shelters. Horses, pot belly pigs, goats, and even an Emu, have found a safe haven at Web of Life's facility. A trip to visit their facility to see the wonderful work they are doing will be well worth your time and effort.

We will be holding a Top Hab Meeting following the October dinner meeting. We anticipate the Top Hab meeting will last between 30-45 minutes. All members are welcome to participate.
